One of the largest properties being developed in the Tampines area of Singapore is The Tapestry condo project. The construction project is being developed by Bellevue Properties a fully owned subsidiary of City Development Limited (abbreviated as CDL) a listed Singapore firm. CDL is one of the most reputed real estate firms in Singapore operating in 26 countries and is associated with a large number of residential, commercial construction projects, owning a number of hotels. The plot at Tampines Avenue 10 was auctioned under the programme for land sales of the Singapore government and there were a total of 9 bidders for the plot.

Bellevue properties was the winning bidder for the Tapestry plot located at 10 Tampines Avenue with its winning bid of Singapore $370.1 million for the plot of size 233,767 square feet. It was last leasehold plot in the Tampines area which was being auctioned by the government sold as Parcel C. Other leasehold plots with condo projects in the same area like Qbay residences, part of Parcel A, the Santorini , part of Parcel B have been sold out as it is a prime area of Singapore, close to the Bedok reservoir, Changi airport, Temasek Polytechnic. The government is planning to develop the area to decongest the central business district of Singapore.

The plot for the Tapestry condo project is located in District 18 of Singapore at Tampines Ave 10. As the 233,767 square feet property has a FSI of 2.8, the gross floor area allowed for the project is 654553 square feet. There are likely to be multiple blocks of 15 storeys each. The developers are planning to construct a total of 861 units, with size ranging from 1 bedroom to 5 bedroom with dual key and study. Based on customer demand and feedback, 206 units with 2 bedrooms, 120 units with 1 bedroom, 148 number 3 bedroom units, 30 4 bedroom units and 15 units with 5 bedrooms are being planned. Additionally there are variants with study, dual key and premium options of the units also available for sale.

The Tapestry Changi Airport will have also the amenities required for luxury living like clubhouse, jogging track, recreation area, lawn, and playground for children, indoor gym, tennis court and a guard house. It will have a 100 m swimming pool, which few other residential complexes have. Though there is no MRT station close to the Tapestry at present, the government is planning to develop the Tampines area rapidly by adding two new MRT stations in future to reduce the congestion in the business district. The area was initially forested with sand quarries, however the government plans to develop a self-contained town in Tampines area in eastern Singapore, as the central part of the Singapore is getting crowded. Singapore’s famous Changi airport is very close to the Tapestry residential project. There are a number of buses available, with the Tampines and Pan Island Expressway connecting the area to the rest of Singapore.
